The Bulldogs ended a three-game losing streak with a one-point win over Merino at home on Friday night. Haxtun hosted two games on the home court last weekend, first facing Merino and then Burlington. Just six games remain on the regular season schedule and right now, the Bulldogs hold a 6-8 overall record.
Friday's match up with Merino marked the first league contest for the Bulldogs, giving the team a 1-0 start in the 3A/2A Lower Platte. As of mid-week, Haxtun, Akron and Sedgwick County all hold a 1-0 record while Merino and Holyoke stand 0-1, according to MaxPreps.
