Koellners honored at open house following 60-year concrete career

Mike and Laurine Koellner recently celebrated 60 years in business as owners of L&L Ready Mix. The two long-time Haxtun residents celebrated with friends, family, customers, current and former employees and community members in a reception in early January.

Louis Koellner and Lawrence Sewell, brothers-in-law, purchased the Haxtun business from Foster Lumber Company in 1965. That is how the name L&L came to be! The Koellners and the Sewells moved their families to Haxtun during the summer of that year. A short time later, the Sewells decided to move back to the Front Range.
