Deaths: Mrs. Carrie Wiles, 63, Dec. 17, 1939, of pneumonia.
Alvin Anderson, 8, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson of 11 miles south of Haxtun, suffered painful injuries Saturday morning when part of a wind-charger tower collapsed and fell on him. Mr. Anderson was working on the tower and fell 12 feet to the ground.
Dear Santa Claus, Will you please bring me a rubber horse, pigs, and blocks and candy and nuts. I am a good boy and I would like to have earmuffs.

Fleming News – The Everett Anderson house was moved into town this week and placed on a recently completed foundation. The Glenn McMillans hope to have it completed and moved into by the last of December.
Fleming News - Janell Kinzie is six years old. Her birthday anniversary was observed Dec. 16 with six of her classmates in her home for a party.

Fleming defeats Haxtun in close contest Friday, 45 -41. Stansbury led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Potter was second with nine. For the Wildcats, Burton tallied 18 points with Wilson second with 11.

Stained glass window installed and dedicated in chapel of Haxtun Hospital: The window crafted by Barb Eckman, was designed by Ruth Pillard, activities director for the nursing home. Rev. Thomas Cross was in charge of raising the $1,000 needed to craft and install the window.

Add a win and a loss to the Haxtun Bulldogs' record after play last week. The Bulldogs took down Peetz on Tuesday night, but fell hard to a quick-scoring Holyoke team Friday night.
The Fleming Lady Wildcats earned a victory over the Briggsdale Lady Falcons last Friday in their last contest of the 2014 portion of this season. The Lady Wildcats now stand at 3-1 overall.
