FLEMING'S DEREK Houser looks to put up a shot from the paint under pressure from Haxtun's Tate Michael. The two teams met on Haxtun's court for the season opener on Dec. 6.
The Fleming Lady Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season over the past week while the boys' team struggles to earn a win. The Wildcat basketball teams traveled to Holyoke and McClave last week.
The Lady Wildcats earned their first victory of the week at Holyoke on Thursday over 2A's Lady Dragons. On Saturday they suffered their first loss at McClave against the undefeated Lady Cardinals. They now own a 3-1 overall record.
The boys' team continues to work toward finding their goove. They took losses at Holyoke and McClave last week, putting them at 0-4 overall.
Individual stats for the games were not reported on MaxPreps as of press time.
The Wildcats are scheduled for one more weekend of action on the court before Christmas break. On Friday they travel to Caliche for boys' C team, boys' junior varsity and girls' and boys' varsity games starting at 4 p.m. On Saturday, they are set to host Arickaree at 3 p.m. beginning with JV boys.
