Special meeting called regarding Haxtun PD personnel

The Haxtun Town Council met for a special meeting to enter into executive session on Monday evening, Dec. 16. According to information provided in the meeting notice, the reason for the closed-door meeting was to discuss personnel matters regarding the police department.

Only the Council and Mayor Mike Ensminger took part in the executive session, called for discussion of a personnel matter under C.R.S. Section 24-6-402(4)(f) and not involving: an employee who has requested the matter be discussed in open session; any member of the board or the appointment of any person to the board; or general personnel policies, specifically regarding the Police Department.

The meeting began at 7 p.m. and lasted an hour and nine minutes. Upon exiting the closed-door meeting, no action was taken and no further discussions or decisions were made. The Council did not give any formal statements regarding the special meeting.

The next regular Haxtun Town Council meeting is set for Monday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m.
