Several bidders were present at the auction sale of real estate lying about 12 miles northeast of Haxtun and town property belonging to the estate of Alice J. Allen, deceased.

Singers organize chorus at Haxtun with new officers: Mrs. M.G. Talcott, chairman; Mrs. W.L. Bamford, secretary/treasurer; Oletha Koch, librarian; and Mrs. Ralph Scott, pianist. Miss Evelyn Scott will be the Director.

Fleming News - Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dillenburg are the parents of a girl, Carol Lorraine, born at Fort Morgan on Wednesday. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Waite of Fleming.

Death: Rev. R.H. Carr, 88, who had made his home in Haxtun for many years with his daughter, Mrs. Lyle W. Griffith, passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 6.

A large number of people enjoyed the third rodeo put on by the Haxtun Junior Saddle Club at the Carl Crowell farm Sunday. Exhibition rides were given by Elden Salyards, Duane Hutt, Jerry Price, Leland Miller, Emil Anich, Irvin Thompson and Bud Kain, with Price taking first and Miller second.

Nov. 8, 1979

One of the oldest family Chevrolet dealerships in the country closed its doors in Haxtun in October after 56 years in the car business. Brad Clark, the dealer when the establishment closed, was the third generation Clark to operate the business.

Fleming Halloween party costume winners, beginning with first place: preschool and kindergarten, Matt Monroe, robot; Kim Wisdom, black cat; Candace Mekelburg, witch. First, second and third grades, Doug Vandenbark, ghost of death; Kim Booher, witch; Kevin Booher, football player, and Mike West, scarecrow, tied for third.

Haxtun Junior High finishes with 5-1 record: football team members, Lesley Klinzmann, Kyle McConnell, Nick Wernsman, John Neel, Kenny Mercer, Dustin Hadeen, Matt Firme, Scott Hadeen, Ross Edwards, Trevor Allen, Sean Lett, Jeff Firme, Mike Guernsey, Tracy Ham, Brett Ley and Kelly Michael. Coaches: Rich Gerk and Dave Shafer.

Someone used what authorities believe is a blue crowbar to damage at least four main street business doors and/or phone boxes: Leisure Palace, Haxtun Telephone Company, Ellie Mae's, Haxtun Community Bank.

Winners of the costume contest held at the Haxtun Fire Hall on Halloween last Friday night were Genesus Cardenas, Mason Bornhoft, Kason Hadeen, Casey, Megan, Ashlyn and Ziggy Wolff, Molly Brown, Dana Davis Bobbi Starkebaum.

Fleming Lady Wildcats added another trophy to the schools' trophy case last week following wins over the Prairie Lady Mustangs and the Community Christian Lady Crusaders. The Lady Wildcats head into the 1A State Championships this Friday in hopes of bringing home a gold ball.

The Fleming Wildcats mowed over the visiting Walsh Eagles in the quarterfinal game of playoffs last Saturday. The win allows Fleming to advance to semifinals at the home of the undefeated consolidated Arickaree/Woodlin team.
