Colorado voters should start seeing ballots in their mailboxes if they haven't already. Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters between Oct. 11 and Oct. 18. Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
State-wide, this year's ballot contains 14 measures and of those, seven propose changes to the State constitution, five propose changes to State Statues and two are questions referred to voters by State Legislation. Each measure is outlined, in detail, in the blue 2024 State Ballot Information Booklet, mailed to registered voters several weeks ago.
Voters will also be tasked with choosing a number of candidates for offices including those on a large scale including the United States President and a number of representatives to the United States Congress. Locally, voters will decide on a representative for District 4.
Phillips County has several election officials on the ballot, all running unopposed. Those include Commissioners Gerald Roberts and Tom Timm, Phillips County Sheriff Michael Beard and County Court Judge Kim Killin.
Qualified individuals have until Oct. 28 to submit a voter registration application and still receive a ballot in the mail for the 2024 general election. To access the application, visit voter registration on the Colorado Secretary of State website at http://www.coloradosos.gov/pubs/elections/main.
All ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. Ballots may be dropped off at any County drop box or returned by mail.
In Haxtun, voters can drop ballots off in an official return box located in front of Town Hall.
Colorado voters can track ballots by visiting GoVoteColorado.gov or locally by calling the Phillips County Clerk's Office at (970) 854-3131.
