The Haxtun Lady Bulldogs swept the Lady Tigers in Cheyenne Wells on Monday night. The three-set win gives the Lady Bulldogs an overall 9-3 record mid-way through the regular season and with just 10 games left on the schedule before post-season play begins.
Following a week long hiatus, the Lady Bulldogs hit the road for a long journey south to Cheyenne Wells on Monday for a non-league match up with the Lady Tigers. Haxtun took sets one through three, 25-18, 25-21 and 26-24.
Seniors Jayleigh Bullard and Bobbi Starkebaum led at the net with a combined 15 kills throughout the three set win. Bullard put down nine kills followed by Starkebaum with six. Josie Freeman added five attacks followed by Maggie Kilgour with four and Emma Henry with three.
Starkebaum had one solo block at the net.
Bullard also led behind the service line with four aces. Kelsie Hadeen, who served 100 percent in Cheyenne Wells, added three aces. Kinsley Koberstein also served perfectly from behind the serving line.
Hadeen contributed 14 assists to her Lady Bulldog hitters throughout the three set victory.
In the back row, libero Lilly Lemesany led in digs with 12. Kilgour registered nine followed by Hadeen with six.
On serve receive, Lemesany and Kilgour combined for 26 passes, splitting evenly at 13 apiece. Emma Lemesany tallied 11 passes.
This week the Lady Bulldogs are set to travel to face the Lady Rams in Merino.
According to MaxPreps, the Lady Rams are 10-0, only dropping a single set so far this season to Fleming in tournament play in late August.
Game time in Merino is set for 4 p.m. followed by football action at 7:30 p.m.
