Rebecca Peterson

On Sunday, June 9, 2024 Rebecca Anne Peterson passed away peacefully into God's arms at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.

Becky was born on Aug. 10, 1957 in Holyoke to Donald and Shirley Vernon. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1975 and worked at Melissa Memorial Hospital until 1982. Then in the summer of 1982 she met her husband-to-be, Randal Peterson. They married Oct. 1, 1982 and began a 42-year run of God's blessings.

Becky and Randy had three children, Randal Peterson Jr., Lena Peterson and Andrew Peterson. They moved to the old C-12 Ranch west of Wray in 1984. In 1989 Becky and Randy moved to North Platte, Neb. Becky worked in home health care for four years taking care of older people who were still living in their homes, then worked for Paulson Cement Company for 15 years.

She is survived by husband Randy; children Randy Peterson Jr., North Platte, Lena and husband Dustin Harris, Hershey, Neb., and Andrew Peterson, Aurora; sisters Peggy Brown, Holyoke, Sheri and husband Tommy Bornhoft, Fleming, and Lona and husband Dave Salyards, Haxtun; brothers Rodney and wife Sharon Vernon, Holyoke, and Jerry Kroeger, Holyoke; grandchildren Brayden, Brianna and Baileigh; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky is preceded in death by mother Shirley (Vernon) Kroeger; father Donald Vernon; stepfather Clarence Kroeger and brother Lenny Vernon.

Funeral services were held at the Imperial Berean Church with Pastor Matt Maxwell officiating on June 21. Interment followed at the Crete Cemetery in Chase County.
