Fun planned for 4th of July

Haxtun's 4th of July Party in the Park promises all of the summer favorites ... burgers, disk golf, ice cream, face painting and of course, fireworks!

Next Thursday the Haxtun Lions Club plans to host a 4th of July Party in the Park including burgers and outdoor games at the Lions Club Gazebo starting at 6 p.m. The fireworks show, sponsored by the Haxtun Volunteer Fire Department, is set to start at dusk.

In addition to burgers and games, plans are to debut Bulldog Putting Greens, a disk golf course at the Haxtun Park. Drawings for starter disk golf supplies will be awarded to winners. Trey Bivins, the mastermind behind the disk golf course, will also be onsite to assist players and answer questions.

Other highlights of the July event include Kelley's Kool Treats ice cream truck and face painting by the high school cheer team. The high school cheerleaders also plan to have baked goods for sale at the park.

Attendees are encouraged to bring outdoor games, friends and lawn chairs for an evening full of 4th of July celebrations at the Haxtun Park. For more information, contact any Haxtun Lions Club member.
