Fair Book released; one month remains until festivities

The 2024 Phillips County Fair is just a month away. The event is slated for July 22-28 in Holyoke at the PC Fairgrounds. The local Fair Board recently released this year's fair book, which is now available in businesses in Haxtun and Holyoke.

Jerry and Vernette Haynes will be honored as Grand Marshals of this year's week-long event this summer. Jerry and Vernette have deep family roots in Phillips County and a rich history with the Phillips County Fair. Jerry's parents, Delbert and Emily, also served as Parade Grand Marshals in 2001 and their daughter served as Phillips County Fair Queen in 2004. The fair theme is, "Cowboy Boots and Family Roots."

The 2024 fair book details this year's schedule, which includes new and returning events like BlackHawk live in concert, KidZone Carnival, CPRA Rodeo and Muttin' Bustin, lawn mower tractor pull, barrel racing and ranch rodeo.

This year's concert featuring BlackHawk live is slated for Saturday, July 27. The night promises a whirlwind of country rock magic as the legendary band takes the stage with their chart-topping hit. From "Goodbye Says It All" to "Every Once in a While," prepare to sing along to every unforgettable anthem.

Also new to the 2024 Phillips County Fair is the Emily Haynes Excellence in Baking Award. The award is sponsored by the Haynes family. Official contest rules are listed under Baked and Persevered in the Fair Book.
