Haxtun's Cassidy Goddard received All-Conference honors in her final high school track season. The recent Haxtun High School graduate has committed to the Black Hills State track and field team to continue her throwing career at the collegiate level next fall.
Goddard received All-Conference honors with her first place finish in discus at the LPAA-YWKC-NC League Meet in Julesburg on May 4. Goddard took first with a throw of 134 feet, 4.5 inches.
She currently holds the Haxtun High School girls discus record set at 135 feet, four inches. Goddard set that record in Holyoke on May 1.
At the 1A Colorado State Track meet last week, Goddard finished third in discus and fifth in shot put.
Track athletes earn All-Conference designations with a first place finish at their respective league meets.
