Bulldog track takes 4x100 and 4x200 relays; earns Runner-Up

The Haxtun Bulldog track team put in an impressive showing at the 2024 Colorado State Track Meet at Jeff. Co. Stadium in Lakewood last weekend. The boys team brought home the State Runner-Up Title and earned two first place finishes while several Lady Bulldogs earned top three placings in individual events.

The boys team earned the Runner-Up Title with a total of 51 points. The top team, Cheyenne Wells, won the Championship trophy with 64 points.

Two Bulldog relay teams earned first place including the boys' four-by-100-meter relay team of Zach Statz, Josh Wright, Ryland Wolff and Grant Statz and the boys' four-by-200-meter relay team with Wright, Wolff, Keegan Colglazier and Colin Cone.

The following is a complete list of State Track Meet results:

Girls

100-meter hurdles: Jayleigh Bullard, sixth, 18.00.

High jump: Bullard, third, five feet; Lexi Imhof, 12th, four feet, four inches.

Triple jump: Bullard, 10th, 31 feet, 4.5 inches.

Discus: Cassidy Goddard, third, 116 feet, eight inches; Reagan Jones, fourth, 109 feet, five inches.

Shot put: Cassidy Goddard, fifth, 33 feet, 9.75 inches.

The Lady Bulldogs earned a total of 29 points at the State Track Meet.

Boys

100-meter dash: Wright, second, 11.35; Grant Statz, fourth, 11.43.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Zach Statz, Wright, Wolff and Grant Statz, first, 44.36.

Four-by-200-meter relay: Team of Wright, Wolff, Colglazier and Cone, first, 1:34.34.

High jump: Max Grauberger, 12th, five feet, five inches.

Triple jump: Zach Statz, second, 41 feet, 2.25 inches.

Shot put: Grant Statz, ninth, 36 feet, 1.5 inches.
