HPD re-registers offender

The Haxtun Police Department re-registered a sex offender living within Haxtun's city limits. Steven Michael Saign lives in the 200 block of North Wallace Avenue.

According to the local police department, Saign is a dual resident, meaning he is registered at two locations; one on North Wallace Avenue and a another on County Road 7 in Phillips County. This is his required quarterly registration.

Saign was convicted of sex assault on a child and sex assault on a child, age 15-18, by someone in a position of trust on Nov. 29, 2012 in El Paso County. As part of his sentencing, he is required to register annually as well as quarterly with law enforcement.
