Haxtun Health will host its annual Health Fair on Saturday, June 1. The Health Fair will be from 7 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Haxtun Community Center. Pre-registration is available online at haxtunhealth.org. Participants can also register in person on the day of the fair.
Upon registration, participants can choose which panel fit their needs. Payments for lab panels are due at time of service by cash, check or credit card. Lab draws will be performed by highly trained staff at the Haxtun Community Center on the day of the fair. Results are then mailed to participants the following week.
“Last year, every Health Fair visitor received their results in their patient portal before the end of the day. Our outstanding Lab team promises to deliver the same speedy results this year,” said Dewane Pace, Chief Executive Officer of Haxtun Health.
Participants can take their results to their preferred provider for questions and review.
“Haxtun Health recognizes the community’s reliance on the annual Health Fair to get annual screenings at an affordable price. We have built these panels based on previous years’ health fairs. Participants will find the package prices are comparable, if not better, than other health fairs around,” said Julia Biesemeier, Chief Community Relations Officer at Haxtun Health.
The Haxtun Health Fair also offers additional health screenings at no cost to participants. This year’s additional free Health Screenings include skin checks, blood pressure and pulse ox levels along with other services and screenings. The Haxtun Hospital Foundation is also sponsoring the popular “In Body” scan machine for the first 50 participants. Little Sprouts Learning Center will also be hosting a Breakfast Burrito Stand for those who wish to purchase breakfast after their blood draw.
About the available tests
Haxtun Health is offering four affordable panels. Healthcare professionals are on-site to give participants assistance on deciding which panel fits their needs. Baseline Panel: $70, includes: Blood Chemistry Panel (CMP and Lipid), CBC, and A1C; Essential Panel: $120, includes: Blood Chemistry Panel (CMP & Lipid), CBC, A1C, and Vitamin D; Essential Plus for Men OR Women: $160, includes: Blood Chemistry Panel (CMP and Lipid), CBC, A1C, Vitamin D, PSA (for men) and TSH (for women).
Blood Chemistry: Includes a CMP and Lipid Panel. Screens blood glucose, cholesterol, electrolytes, liver, kidneys and thyroid. Lipid panel measures fats and fatty substances used as a source of energy in the body, including cholesterol, triglycerides, high and low density lipoprotein (HDL and LDL). It can help monitor and identify health issues like diabetes and heart disease.
Complete Blood Count: Measures several components and is used to evaluate your overall health and detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection and leukemia.
Hemoglobin A1C Diabetes Screening: Measures average blood sugar levels for the past two to three months, and screens for Type 2 diabetes/prediabetes and monitor treatment.
Vitamin D: Provides baseline Vitamin D levels, which is important to bone health and vital body functions.
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA): Measures a protein produced by the prostate gland. After discussion with your healthcare provider, this screening may be recommended for individuals age 69 or younger, or those with a family history of prostate cancer.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): Screens for overall thyroid function.
Haxtun Health recommends not eating or drinking anything except water after midnight before lab work to best prepare for a blood draw. Drink plenty of water and continue to take prescription medications. People with diabetes should not fast. Check with your healthcare provider for specific recommendations.
