The Haxtun Education Foundation Directors recently announced the recipients of $1,000 scholarships to Haxtun graduating seniors, Brock Miller and Kirsta Dishman.
The HEF also granted $2,000 grants to school staff who submitted proposals to help meet the needs of students in the district. The grants were used to fund or partially fund the following: new headphones for the third grade classroom; new chess boards for the junior high math classroom; a rolling set of bins for the ag classroom; two microscopes – one for the high school and one for the middle school science classrooms; sensory input items and incentives for the special education classroom; wave chairs and wobble cushions for the second grade classroom; reusable cardboard portfolios for the upper-level art students; elementary snack program; math materials for the first grade classroom; and hands on learning experiences for the kindergarten classroom.
The Haxtun Education Foundation would not have the resources to help the school district meet its mission without the generous support of the community.
