Presidential primary election results now official

Phillips County clerk and recorder, Beth Zilla, has filed the county’s official, final March 3 presidential primary election vote counts with the Colorado Secretary of State’s office.

Following required audits by the county, vote counts for the top three highest vote recipients have not changed from what was previously reported in The Haxtun-Fleming Herald. An additional 13 Democrat and 17 Republican votes for “down ballot” candidates are herein being reported.

The 161 Democrat Party ballot votes went to the following candidates or category in rank order: Joseph R. Biden Jr., 115; Noncommitted delegate, 18; Dean Phillips, 15; Marianne Williamson, 6; Jason Michael Palmer, 3; Armando “Mando” Perez-Serrato, 2; Gabriel Cornejo, 1; Stephen P. Lyons, 1; Frankie Lozada, 0.

The 1,284 Republican Party ballot votes went to the following candidates in rank order: Donald J. Trump, 1,037; Nikki Haley, 204; Ron DeSantis, 26; Vivek Ramaswamy, 6; Chris Christie, 5; Ryan L. Binkley, 5; Asa Hutchinson, 1.

The Republican write-in candidates, Rachel Hanna “Mohawk” Swift and Walter Iwachiw each had zero votes.
