The Haxtun Bulldogs saw action on the basketball court twice over the past week. The first in a home game against the Peetz Bulldogs and the second on the road in Yuma against the Outlaws.
Haxtun hosted Peetz on Friday night, taking on the Bulldogs in green. Peetz nabbed an early six point advantage after the first quarter but both teams put 11 points on the board in the second to keep the score fairly even at half time.
Haxtun added 13 points in the third quarter and 17 in the fourth but the Bulldogs from Peetz held on for a 10-point win, 67-57.
Senior Ryland Wolff and sophomore Chase Goddard led the Bulldogs on the board Friday night. Wolff registered 20 points followed by Goddard with 19. Colin Cone, Madden Larsen, Tate Michael and Mason Bornhoft each tallied two points.
The following night the Bulldogs were slated to travel to Yuma to take on the Outlaws but bitter cold temperatures and snowfall pushed the contest back to Tuesday of this week. The Bulldogs faced off with Yuma on Jan. 16, falling to the Outlaws by 67.
This weekend the Bulldogs will be home on back-to-back nights. Friday night Haxtun will face off with Sedgwick County. Saturday action will put Haxtun on the court against the Bulldogs from Otis.
