Lady Wildcats go 2-0 in Winter Hoops tourney

The Fleming Lady Wildcats went 2-0 last weekend at their annual Winter Hoops Tournament. The Lady Wildcats hosted Arickaree, Gilpin County and Flagler for Friday/Saturday action on the court. Last weekend's wins put them at 2-3 on the season.

On Friday, the Lady Wildcats defeated Flagler to open the tournament. Fleming took a 51-22 win in that contest.

On Saturday, the hosting team earned a 20-point victory over Arickaree in the tournament championship. They came back from a four-point deficit after the first quarter to win 44-24.

Lady Wildcat sophomore Brooke Schaefer led her team in scoring for both contests. She put up 16 against Flagler and 14 against Arickaree.

Sophomore Ashley Bornhoft earned a double-double on Friday night against Flagler. She scored 15 points and brought down 12 rebounds.

Sophomore Ciana Lousberg added double digits to the scoreboard on both nights. She tallied 10 on Friday 11 on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats took on Lone Star on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Results of that game were not available as of press time. They will return to the court on Jan. 5 at Arickaree.
