Last week, the Wildcats hosted the top-ranked team in League 1 - the Briggsdale Falcons. Briggsdale entered with an undefeated 4-0 league record.
The two squads matched efforts in the opening quarter at Fleming on Friday night both putting one touchdown on the scoreboard to tie at 6-all. Fleming gained an advantage in the second quarter and half closed with the home team on top, 22-14.
The Falcons dominated the second half adding 25 points to their side of the scoreboard. The Wildcat offense managed another 13 points, but fell short overall by just four points, 39-35.
Individual stats for the contest were not reported on MaxPreps.
According to MaxPreps, the Stratton Eagles are undefeated for the second consecutive season. Fleming and Stratton met last year in the 6-man State Championship with Stratton taking the win. Kickoff on Friday is set for 7 p.m.
