Just a pair of games remain in the regular season for the 12-9 Fleming Lady Wildcats. League standings on MaxPreps put the Lady Wildcats in the number three slot with away games on Thursday, Oct. 26 and Friday, Oct. 27.
The Lady Wildcats traveled to Holyoke last Thursday, Oct. 17, where they took a four-set victory over the Lady Dragons. Fleming took sets one, three and four, 25-21, 27-25 and 25-17, respectively. They dropped set two 26-24.
Several Lady Wildcats ended the match in double digits in categories across the board. Sophomore hitters Ashley Bornhoft, Ciana Lousberg and Quincy Stull led at the net in kills all in double digits. Bornhoft put down the team high with 14. Lousberg and Stull followed with 13 and 11, respectively.
Sophomore Brooke Schaefer led the team's back row efforts, hitting double digits on serve receive and in digs. She put 35 serves into play and tallied 27 digs for the night.
Siena Donnelson, also a sophomore member of the Lady Wildcat squad, hit double digits in both back row categories. She added 14 ups on serve receive and 11 digs.
Freshman Hayley Chamberlain followed Schaefer's effort in digs with 13 and led the team in assists with 20.
Sophomore Emoree Lousberg was the third player to hit double digits on serve receive. She put up 11 with no errors.
Bornhoft led the Lady Wilddcats' blocking game with two solo blocks. Senior MadiKay Serrato blocked one solo and one assisted. Stull added two assisted blocks.
Serrato tallied five aces in the contest. Ciana Lousberg followed with four.
On Friday, Oct. 20, the Lady Wildcats hosted the Briggsdale Lady Falcons. They fell in four sets that night after taking the first set, 25-16, and falling in the next three, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-14.
On Saturday night, Oct. 21, the Lady Wildcats traveled to Caliche where they swept the Lady Buffaloes with set scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-11.
Individual stats for the contests against Briggsdale and Caliche were not reported on MaxPreps.
On Thursday, Oct. 26, the Lady Wildcats are scheduled to travel to Merino to go up against the 20-1 Lady Rams. Matches that day are set to start at 4 p.m.
On Friday, Fleming travels to Stratton for a varsity match with the 19-3 Lady Eagles. The match that day is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
