Summer reading program's top readers awarded prizes

Results from the Haxtun Public Library Summer Reading contest were announced recently. Area youth attended summer reading once a week throughout the summer and were challenged to read as many books as possible. Below are results for the 2023 Summer Reading contest:

Ages 10-15: First place and Overall winner, Felipe Hill reading a total of 315 books this summer; second place was Bella Hill and third place was Taylor Frank.

Ages six to nine: First place tie between Amber Edwards and Emerson Frank; third place went to Tyndle McConnell.

Ages three to five: Titus Stephenson read 100 books with his family this summer thus receiving first place. A tie for second went to Henry and Nolan Frank.

Participants received Haxtun Bucks funded by the Friends of the Library.
