Alumni set to meet during 102nd annual Corn Festival

The Haxtun High School Alumni Association plans to meet during the 102nd annual Corn Festival celebration slated for Saturday, Sept. 30. An open house is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. at the Haxtun High School gymnasium.

Refreshments will be served during the open house, which is open to the public. A short business meeting will be held at 3 p.m.

A freewill offering will take place during the gathering, which benefits the Haxtun Alumni Scholarship fund.

Each year the Haxtun High School Alumni Association gives two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors. Last year scholarship funds went to Cassidy Goodwin and Aly Lock.

The Haxtun graduating Class of 1973 is hosting the annual alumni meeting at the high school and class member Paul Knott plans to emcee.

Classes honored this year include: 1948, 1953, 1958, 1963, 1968, 1973 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018.
