What can we reason but from what we know? -Alexander Pope
Eating is a primal survival mechanism, but it is not that simple. Our eating behaviors are influenced by physiological, environmental, social and emotional factors. Colorado State University Extension plans to host a webinar on Monday, Sept. 11, from 12-1 p.m. as Dr. Renee Yarbrough-Yale discusses eating and food addiction. Dr. Yarbrough-Yale will present information on food substances that are most addictive, behaviors that reflect addictive eating, metabolic diseases associated with addictive eating and chemicals and hormones that impact our eating behaviors. She will also provide insight about her personal journey.
Dr. Renee Yarbrough-Yale has been a nurse for almost 37 years, with 30 of those years at the county hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Most of those years were spent in critical care, but she has been the Inpatient Diabetes Program Coordinator at the JPS Health Network since 2019. When she discovered the existence of food addiction several years ago, her continued struggles with food and weight became clear.
This webinar is provided at no cost and is available to attend in person. Registration is recommended to ensure adequate seating and handouts.
