Wildcats open track season with two meets

The Fleming Wildcat tracksters kicked off the 2023 season recently following cancellations of the scheduled opening meets. Fleming competed at Holyoke on Saturday, April 8 and at Yuma in the Bill Kalb Invitational on Monday, April 10. Top-10 results of those meets are as follows:

Holyoke Invitational

Girls

100-meter dash: Kally Kirkwood, first place, 13.38.

200-meter dash: Kirkwood, first, 26.98; Maddy Harms, seventh, 29.74.

400-meter dash: Kirkwood, first, 1:01.69; Siena Donnelson, third, 1:10.22.

800-meter run: MadiKay Serrato, first, 2:44.43; Emoree Lousberg, third, 2:56.99.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Donnelson, Brooke Schaefer, Ciana Lousberg and Ashley Bornhoft, seventh, 58.17.

Four-by-800-meter relay: Team of Serrato, Harms, Ciana Lousberg and Emoree Lousberg, second, 11:16.62.

Long jump: Donnelson, fifth, 12 feet, 10.25 inches.

Triple jump: Schaefer, third, 30 feet, one-half inch; Bornhoft, sixth, 28 feet, 10.5 inches.

High jump: Bornhoft, third, four feet, eight inches; Ciana Lousberg, tie for ninth, four feet, four inches.

Shot put: Harms, 10th, 27 feet, nine inches.

The Lady Wildcats finished in third place out of 10 teams.

Boys

300-meter hurdles: Wyatt Northrup, sixth, 57.02.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Lincoln Castillo, Matix Haney, Kale Volkman and Nolan Japp, fourth, 48.63.

Four-by-800-meter relay: Team of Castillo, Jared Betley, David Betley and Pierson Japp, second, 10:13.80.

Long jump: Pierson Japp, 10th, 15 feet, five and three-quarter inches.

High jump: Nolan Japp, fourth, five feet, four inches.

Shot put: David Betley, ninth, 33 feet, six inches.

Discus: David Betley, seventh, 100 feet, one inch.

The Wildcats finished in sixth place out of 10 teams.

Bill Kalb Invitational

Girls

100-meter dash: Kirkwood, fourth, 13.71.

800-meter run: Serrato, second, 2:42.55; Ciana Lousberg, fourth, 2:45.77; Emoree Lousberg, ninth, 2:59.46.

1,600-meter run: Emoree Lousberg, third, 6:42.73.

Four-by-100-meter relay: Team of Donnelson, Schaefer, Harms and Kirkwood, sixth, 55.06.

Four-by-200-meter relay: Team of Donnelson, Schaefer, Harms and Kirkwood, fifth, 1:54.41.

Long jump: Donnelson, tie for fourth, 14 feet, four and one-half inches; Ciana Lousberg, sixth, 14 feet, four inches.

The Wildcats finished in 13th place out of 18 teams.
