Four Haxtun student-athletes have been selected for All Conference designation following the completion of the 2022-23 wrestling season. The wrestlers were four of seven members of the Sedgwick County/Fleming squad to qualify for this year's State Tournament. They made contributions to the team effort that resulted in an eighth place finish out of 44 teams competing at State.
Senior Aliyah Engle, who became the first female wrestler on the Sedgwick County/Fleming team to qualify for State, finished her debut season at 14-8 overall. Competing in the 110-pound weight class, she finished the State Tournament with a 1-2 record.
Junior Kaiden Schelling earned runner-up in the 113-pound division at the State Tournament. He went 32-9 on the year and 3-1 at the State Tournament a few weeks ago.
Sophomore Scotty Engle closed his season after going 1-2 in the 126-pound weigh class at the State Tournament. He finished the season at 29-4 overall.
Sophomore Grant Statz competed in the 165-pound division closing his season with a third place finish at the State Tournament. He went 5-1 at State in late-February and finished the year at 26-9 overall.
