The Sedgwick County/Fleming wrestling team had a change in their schedule this past weekend due to weather. They were supposed to travel to Kearney, Neb. on Thursday, Jan. 19 to participate in the UNK Midwest Duals and then go on to Atwood, Kan., to participate in the Buffalo Invitational, but due to closed roads they were unable to attend the UNK duals. The team traveled to Atwood on Friday, Jan. 20 and dualed Atwood-Rawlins County and St. Francis Friday night. The team planned to participate in the Buffalo Invitational in Atwood on Saturday, Jan. 21. Once again the weather changed those plans. The coaches received a text early Saturday morning informing them that the tournament had been cancelled, so instead of wrestling the team traveled back home.
This week will be a busy week for the team as they traveled to Wray to dual the Eagles on Tuesday, Jan. 24. The team then plans to travel to Curtis, Neb., to participate in the Med Valley Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27 and then on to Stratton to participate in the Stratton Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28.
