Haxtun Health plans annual Girls' Night Out event on Jan. 28

Women, wellness and a little wine

Haxtun Health will host its free annual Girls' Night Out event on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Haxtun Community Center from 5:30-8 p.m. Community-women of all ages are invited to attend. RSVPs are not required, but tables or seats can be reserved by calling Sara Huss at (970) 774-6123, texting Julia Biesemeier at (970) 520-9213 or registering at https://forms.office.com/r/5MpRHypHMy.

In keeping with the event's tradition, the evening will focus on and celebrate women's health. The evening's dinner and wine bar will open at 5:30 p.m. for lasagna (both gluten-free and regular) and a green salad. Programming will begin at 6:15 p.m. This year's wine bar will feature a variety of sweet wines from Mummy Hill Winery based out of Wray. Nonalcoholic sparkling cider is available for those not interested in wine tasting. Chocolate and cannolis will be the evening's featured sweet treat.

"The Ever-Changing Woman's Body" will be the theme of the wellness portion for the evening.

Chelsey Kraupie, a Physical Therapist born and raised in Haxtun, will bring her expertise to the table with "Pelvic Floor at its Core." As a PT, Kraupie is certified in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation, and she will share her tips and tricks for a strong core and pelvic floor as we age.

Lauren Gerk, CRNA providing pain management solutions at Haxtun Health, will discuss "Less Pain, More Joy, and the Art of Finding More Pain-Free Movement at Every Age."

The newest addition to the Haxtun Health Team is Racheal Fryrear, Behavioral Health Counselor. Fryrear brings information on "Acudetox: An Eastern approach to support a woman's changing body."

A women's wellness panel will be rounding out the evening, including Reba Bean, Nurse Practitioner at Haxtun Health; Kraupie, Physical Therapist; Gerk, CRNA; Fryrear, Behavioral Health Counselor and Stephanie Starkebuam, Colorado State University Extension Family and Consumer Sciences. There is a complete lineup of door prizes for the evening and guest attending will take home some great coupons.

Haxtun Health will also present the 2023 Wellness for Women award. The Wellness for Women award intends to honor individuals who have demonstrated a passion for women's mental or physical health and well-being or are outstanding wellness role models to other women within the community. Questions regarding this year's event can be directed to the Haxtun Health Marketing Department by calling (970) 774-6123.
