Paoli Hustlers

The Paoli Hustlers 4-H Club met on Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Haxtun Community Center for the first meeting of the year. President Braden Plumb opened the meeting at 5 p.m. Present were Advisors Kindra Plumb and Lyanne Santistevan along with members and parents.

Kortlyn Carpenter led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. It was moved by Addie Oliver and seconded by Leah Edwards to approve the secretary’s report as written by Brooklyn Plumb. Caleb Santistevan gave the Treasurer’s report, which was approved.

In old business, members discussed a previously approved motion to donate to have Jessie Owens’ brand placed on the Brand Wall at the Bank of Colorado Pavilion at the Phillips County Fairgrounds. Jessica Oliver is working on this with Denise Smith.

Under new business, members voted to go to the pumpkin patch in Holyoke on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. An email will be sent to all members to sign up.

Members were asked to help serve the Paoli Coop annual meeting on Nov. 17. An email with additional details and to sign up will be sent by Advisors.

The annual Achievement Day is slated for Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Haxtun Community Center. Members are to bring a dessert or fruit and veggie tray. Photos from the previous 4-H year should be sent to Paige Oliver.

Members also held elections for the new year. The officer slated is: President, Addie Oliver; Vice President, Caleb Santistevan; Secretary, Braden Plumb; Treasurer, Leah Edwards; Reporter, Haylie Carpenter; Council Representatives, Tessa Gales and Braden Plumb; Alternative Council Representatives, Paige Oliver and Wyatt Mason.

Reid Oliver then moved to take Caleb Santistevan off the Club checking account and add Leah Edwards, the motion passed.

The meeting was adjourned. The next Paoli Hustler 4-H meeting is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. at the Haxtun Community Center.
