Ready to roll

MACHINERY sits along the edge of a field at Logan County roads 28 and 95 just southwest of Haxtun ready to roll for the day. According to Aaron Schaefer at CHS, the first load of wheat came to the Haxtun location on July 2 by local farmers Lynn and Leland Seger. Fleming's first load came from Mark Lambert on June 29.

Wheat harvest in the local area, Schaefer said, is about 65 percent complete as of Monday morning, July 11. The average yield as of the same date, he said, is 20-25 bushel an acre.
