Arnold Constance

Arnold Lee "Arnie" Constance entered his eternal home on June 10, 2022 at his residence in Sterling.

Arnie was born July 25, 1937 to Fred and Lela (Dutro) Constance in Crook. He was raised in the Iliff area. His first three years of schooling was in a one-room country school, then two years at Padroni. He completed his education in Iliff, graduating from high school in 1955. He married Leota Harms on June 26, 1959 and they were married just shy of 63 years.

He started a long career working for finance companies, banks and credit unions located in Sterling, Haxtun and Strasburg. In 1983 Arnie went to auctioneer school and for years enjoyed working with Shorty Haynes as an auctioneer. He left the banking industry in 1984 to pursue his love for agriculture, farming in the Haxtun area until both he and Leota retired and moved to Sterling.

In Arnie's younger years he spent much of his time bowling, playing city league softball and basketball. He also enjoyed throughout his life hunting and fishing as well as always being ready for a game of pitch or cribbage.

He is survived by his wife Leota; sons Kevin and wife Patience Constance and Gary and wife Tamera Constance; daughters Kristie and husband Brett Salvador and Vonnie and husband Jerry Sonnenberg; sisters Janet Stone, Anita and husband Bob Pfief and Madeline Spilman and significant other Jim Hayhurst; brothers Ronald and wife Barb Constance, Charles and wife Loretta Constance and Leon Constance; 12 grandchildren Ashley and husband Chad Renslow, Jessica Borns, Afton and husband Russel Dains, Alex Constance, Josh and wife Dani Sonnenberg, Danielle Constance, Ryan and wife Thea Sonnenberg, Samantha and husband Isaac Cervantes, Rebekah Constance, Leah Constance, Layne Constance and Victoria Constance; 13 great-grandchildren Katie Joblinske, Hudson Borns, Cambrei Dains, Caleb Dains, Cailyn Dains, Pake Sonnenberg, Reno Sonnenberg, Seth Renslow, Sophia Butler, Taos Sonnenberg, Eva Cervantes, Palmer Sonnenberg and Naomi Renslow; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arnie is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Lela Constance; sisters Donna Constance and Emily Logsdon; grandson Wesley Borns; and great-granddaughter Evelyn "Evie" Butler.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in the name of Arnie Constance to the Berean Church care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.

The family will receive guests from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday evening, June 14 at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on June 15 at the Berean Church in Sterling with Pastor Dan Holsten officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
