Track teams place 9th and 7th in Yuma Tuesday

Tracksters from Haxtun High School competed in the 54th annual Yuma Bill Kalb Invitation on Tuesday, April 12.

Girls

The girls team racked up 29 points for a ninth place overall finish.

400-meter-dash: Taylor Schram, ninth, 1:14.05; Aliyah Engle, 10th, 1:14.93.

1,600-meter run: Heily Avery, 10th, 7:51.38.

300-meter hurdles: Jayleigh Bullard, seventh, 1:01.73.

Four-by-100 relay team: ninth, 59.56.

Four-by-200 relay team: eighth, 2:07.46.

800-sprint medley relay team: 10th, 2:19.68.

High jump: Bullard, 10th, four feet, two inches.

Long jump: Bobbi Starkebaum, fourth, 13 feet, 4.5 inches.

Triple jump: Allie Thompson, second, 31 feet, four inches.

Discus: Cassidy Goddard, first, 108 feet, eight inches.

Shot put: Goddard, sixth, 30 feet, four inches.

Boys

The boys team earned a total of 36 points and a seventh overall finish in Yuma.

100-meter dash: Kyle Fryrear, second, 11.32; Owen Knode, eighth, 11.80; Michael Gerk, ninth, 11.82.

1,600-meter run: Josh Wright, seventh, 5:46.99.

Four-by-100 meter relay team: first, 47.42.

Four-by-200 meter relay team: first, 1:37.94.

Sprint medley relay: seventh, 4:38.14.

Long jump: Grant Statz, ninth, 16 feet, 2.25 inches.
