Wine, women and wellness
Haxtun Health will host its free annual Girls Night Out event on Saturday, Feb. 19 at the Haxtun Community Center from 5:30-8 p.m. Community women of all ages are invited to attend. RSVPs are not required, but tables or seats can be reserved by calling (970) 774-6123 or texting Julia Biesemeier at (970) 520-9213. Childcare will be provided in the east room of the Community Center for those who need it.
Keeping with the tradition of the event, the wine, women and wellness evening will focus on, and celebrate women’s health. The evening’s dinner and wine bar will open at 5:30 p.m. for a baked potato bar and green salad. Programming will begin at 6:15.
This year’s wine bar will feature a variety of wines from Country Road Vines and Wines based in Fort Morgan. Nonalcoholic sparkling cider is available for those not interested in wine tasting. Chocolates by Chocolove, will be the evening’s featured sweet treat.
The wellness portion of the evening includes Keynote Speaker, Michelle Galyardt, M.S, who will share on the “Mind is at the Core of all Healing and True Health.” Galyardt is a Life Empowerment Coach, exercise professional, author and motivational speaker working with individuals, groups and online programs to help empower people to make positive changes for their health and mentality. After being a competitive gymnast for 14 years, Galyardt went to Syracuse University and earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Exercise Science as well a Master’s of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology. She is a Certified Muscle Activation Technique Specialist and taught yoga and Pilates for 15 years before becoming a Certified Level One CrossFit Trainer.
Haxtun Health’s, Dr. Amy Seinfeld, DO, brings us a presentation on “Red Wine, Dark Chocolate, and a Good Night's Sleep.” Dr. Seinfeld is an osteopathic physician, board-certified in family medicine and the newest addition to the Haxtun Health team.
“In my role as a physician, my goal is to not just provide hands-on, medical care, but to also serve as an educator for my patients,” Dr. Seinfeld said. “By informing patients about their health, wellness and nutrition, you can impact their quality of life short and long term.”
Rounding out the evening will be a women’s wellness panel which will include Dr. Seinfeld, Galyardt, Haxtun Health Lab Director Felipe Cobos and Pharmacist Drew Gonzales.
The evening also includes a lineup of door prizes for the evening and guests attending will take home a swag bag. The 2022 Wellness for Women award will also be presented at the event.
The Wellness for Women award is intended to honor individuals who have demonstrated a passion for the mental or physical health and well-being of women or those that are an outstanding wellness role model to other women within the community.
