Lady Bulldogs sweep Wiggins Lady Tigers

The intensity level was at a 10 in Haxtun's gymnasium last Tuesday as the Haxtun Lady Bulldogs cruised to a three-set victory over the Wiggins Lady Tigers.

A victory over the defending 2A State Champions upped the Lady Bulldog's RPI, giving them a top five standing in 1A rankings with the Colorado High School Activities Association. Others who sit in the top five include Merino, Fleming, Briggsdale and Wiley, three of which Haxtun has left on the regular season schedule.

The Lady Bulldogs found themselves down in set one with the Lady Tigers but dug deep for some grit to battle back for a first set win, 26-24. The second two sets started off much the same, but Haxtun gave themselves a fighting chance to take the final two, and that they did, 25-23 and 25-21, respectively.
