Lady Cats sweep Friday and Saturday

Fleming's Lady Wildcats swept in back-to-back night's last week. They opened on the road against the Prairie Lady Mustangs on Friday and hosted the Flagler Lady Panthers for homecoming on Saturday.

Prairie fell Friday night by set scores of 25-8, 25-10 and 25-7, giving the local ladies the match victory.

True to form, junior Kally Kirkwood made an impressive showing at the net. She led her team in kills with 12 off 19 attacks with no hitting errors. Kirkwood also contributed three blocks and 11 assists.

Senior Whitney Chintala led in digs from the back row with 11. She followed Kirkwood in kills with five and went 100 percent from behind the serving line adding four aces for the contest.

Senior Zoey Vandenbark took top serving honors for the match. She served 100 percent on 10 serves with five aces. At the net, she contributed four kills.

Junior Maddy Harms led the squad in blocks with two solo and two assisted.

Sophomore Madi Serrato held the setter's position for the match and put up 15 assists.

Back row specialist, junior Lexi Schaefer, led the team on serve receive putting up 10 passes. She added five digs on defense.

Stats and set scores were not reported for the Flagler game on Saturday as of press time. The Lady Wildcats did take the match three sets to none.

The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to take on Caliche on Tuesday, Sept. 13. Results of that contest had not been determined as of press time. They are set to host Peetz on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 5:30 p.m. and travel to Holyoke on Saturday, Sept. 18 for a 3 p.m. contest against the Lady Dragons.
