Janell Hovel

Janell Marguriet Hovel passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Loveland at the age of 68.

Janell was born on May 25, 1952 in Haxtun to Jack and Leona (Quint) Kennedy. She graduated from Haxtun High School and was a daycare provider. She provided childcare in her home for over 30 years. During this time, she formed special friendships with many families. She cherished visits with them even after the children were grown and she retired.

Janell married Barry Hovel on May 31, 1975 in Haxtun and they were married for over 45 years. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Child Care Association. She enjoyed going to all of her grandkids' sporting events and activities and attending concerts with her good friend Bea.

Janell is survived by her husband Barry; daughter Melanie and husband Brad Segelke; grandkids Chance and Colton Segelke; son Darin Hovel; brother Jack and wife Nancy Kennedy; sister JoDel Ramirez; sisters-in-law Judy and husband Pat Sturgis and Janean Hovel; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Leona and other extended family.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Private family interment will be held at the Haxtun Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Janell's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital care of Tennant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1547, Sterling, CO 80751.
