Haxtun FBLA attends virtual leadership conference

The Haxtun High School FBLA Chapter virtually attended the Colorado FBLA State Leadership Experience on April 18-20. Chapter members and family gathered together at the high school to watch the opening and closing ceremonies.

The Haxtun FBLA Chapter received the PEAK V award under K'lyn Bornhoft and Taylor Schram's completion, one BAA leader award for Tanley Andersen and one CSA service award for Azariah Calderon.

There were seven separate projects that qualified to compete at the National Leadership Experience. Bella Tori placed fourth in the Local Chapter Annual Report, Aly Lock and Grace Gibson placed fourth in American Enterprise, Calderon placed third in the Community Service Project, Alex Luna placed third in Accounting II, Allie Thompson and Ella Coffin placed thrid in Partnership with Business, Andersen placed first in Future Business Leader and Brooklyn Plumb placed first in Job Interview.

There were three projects that placed in the top 10. Jeff Miner placed ninth in Computer Problem Solving, Brock Miller placed eighth in Intro to Business Communications and Kaiden Schelling placed ninth in Intro to FBLA.

Andersen ended her term as the District IV State Officer during the State Leadership Experience. Later, Calderon was elected as the Vice President of Service and Lock was selected to be the District IV State Officer on the 2021-2022 Colorado FBLA state officer team.

Throughout the week, the Chapter watched two different workshops that were streamed for the conference. Members watched "Entrepreneurial Earth" and "How to Dress for Success." The Chapter is planning to reward the State competitors with a trip to the Gaylord of Rockies and the national qualifiers are working on planning an out-of-state trip.
