Victoria Santomaso

Victoria Rae (Burmester/Benedict) Santomaso passed away on March 22, 2021 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Westminster at the age of 78.

Vickie was born to Bernhard Otto Henry "Ben" Burmester and Luella May (Pope/Burmester) Papke on June 16, 1942 in Haxtun. Vickie was the third and orneriest of four children. Vickie spent all her educational years at Haxtun and graduated in 1961.

Vickie married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Allen Benedict in 1960. To this union was born a son Neal Allen Benedict and a daughter Kori Lynn (Benedict) Gonzales. Vickie later married Johnny Donald Santomaso in 1977.

She loved school and her church, especially choir. Vickie was a cheerleader, band member where she played the French Horn and enjoyed singing in the high school choir. Vickie enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially her granddaughter. She was a talented seamstress, creative toll painter and was an avid reader.

Throughout her career she worked her way up from a secretary to management with Public Service Company, retiring in 2003.

She will be remembered for her quick wit, her bright smile and her genuine interest in people.

Vickie is survived by her daughter Kori Gonzales and husband Tracy and their daughter Gabrielle Rae Gonzales; brother Doug Burmester and wife Sandy; sister Nancy Fetzer and husband Bob; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Neal Allen Benedict and brother Herman Gale Burmester.

A memorial service to honor Vickie's life will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 10 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229.
