Blankenship earns Masters

Renee Cheramy, Garden City, Kan., announces the graduation of her daughter Alicia Blankenship from Southwestern College of Santa Fe, N.M. Blankenship now holds a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy/Counseling.

Blankenship, a 2007 graduate of Fleming High School, earned her Associate Degree in 2009 while attending McCook Community College on a volleyball scholarship. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts-Painting, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Fort Hays State University in 2013.

She plans on working with underserved communities, including correctional facilities and youth emergency shelters.

Blankenship is the granddaughter of Alice and the late Carl Cheramy, Fleming, and Shirley Blankenship, Chappell, Neb.
