Haxtun FBLA Chapter attends District 4 Leadership experience virtually

The Colorado Future Business Leaders of America District 4 Leadership experience was held on Feb. 4. Haxtun High School's FBLA Chapter attended virtually from the comfort of their own school. FBLA members were able to participate in virtual workshops, listened to Aric Jackson during his keynote speech and watched the awards ceremony at the end of the conference. Haxtun FBLA had an extremely eventful award ceremony with many members qualifying for the Colorado FBLA State Leadership experience.

The following is a list of local students who qualified for the State contest: Alex Luna, first place, Accounting II and Electronic Career Portfolio; Brooklyn Plumb, first place, Job Interview, third place, Business Economics; Jeff Miner, first place, Computer Problem Solving; Megan Walker, second place, Intro to Business Procedures; Tanley Andersen, first place, Future Business Leader; Brock Miller, second place, Intro to Business Communications, fourth place, Intro to Financial Math; Michael Gerk, first place, Intro to FBLA; Kaiden Schelling, second place, Intro to FBLA; Keegan Colglazier, fourth place, Intro to FBLA; Jerron Turney, second place, Intro to Financial Math, third place, Intro to Parliamentary Procedure; Brayden Clark, first place, Intro to Information Technology; Matthew Deering, third place, Intro to Information Technology; and Samantha Seger, first place, Spreadsheet Applications.

Group projects that also qualified include: Cassidy Goddard and Meghan Walker, first place, E-Business; Fallon Bamford and Samantha Seger, first place, Intro to Social Media Strategy; Brayden Clark, Michael Gerk and Kyle Fryrear, first place, Sports and Entertainment Management.

Other members who placed in the top 10 include K'lyn Bornhoft and Taylor Schram, Graphic Design; Kyle Fryrear, Intro to Business Communications; Mason Bornhoft, Intro to FBLA; Jefferey Morrison, Intro to Financial Math; and Landon Larson, Organizational Leadership.

Those who will participate in state-only events are Azariah Calderon, Community Service Project; Ella Coffin and Allie Thompson, Partnership with Business; Grace Gibson and Aly Lock, American Enterprise; Bella Tori, Local Chapter Annual Business Report; and K'lyn Bornhoft and Taylor Schram, PEAK V.
