Haxtun Health hosts Healthy for the Holidays campaign Dec. 8-18

Annual lab work at discounted cash pay rate in absence of health fair

Haxtun Health is hosting their first annual Healthy for the Holidays: Annual Lab Draw campaign, Tuesday Dec. 8 through Friday, Dec. 18 at the Hospital. In the absence of this year’s health fair, Haxtun Health has put together cash pay lab packages at a significant discount in order to fill in the gap for those relying on the annual blood draw.

Lab appointments are required but appointment times from 8 a.m. to noon have been reserved specifically for Healthy for the Holidays participants. Participants can make appointments in just a few easy steps: simply call our hotline number at (970) 774-6123 option 5 and request a Healthy for the Holidays appointment.

The registration team will ask a few essential questions and book the most convenient time available for the participant. Much like the annual health fair, lab results from our Healthy for the Holidays campaign will be mailed directly to participants.

Healthy for the Holidays

lab package options

Holiday Cheer: this package includes a complete blood count and a comprehensive metabolic panel. A CBC checks hemoglobin, white blood cells, red blood cells and more — it is a good test for checking anemia, screening for Leukemia, and ensuring you have enough blood. A CMP is a chemistry panel that includes glucose, electrolytes, and other kidney and liver function tests — a very comprehensive chemistry check.

Santa’s Work-Up: includes the above tests plus a lipid panel to check your cholesterol, including the good and bad cholesterol levels. A thyroid-stimulating hormone test is also in Santa’s Work-Up and is a useful screening test for thyroid function. A hemoglobin A-1-C test is also included — this test shows how well your blood sugar has been controlled over time. And just because Santa wants you to know — we have included a blood type test.

Deck the Halls: this package includes everything above in addition to a Vitamin-D level, Vitamin B-12 level, and a COVID antibody test. Vitamin D is essential for strong bones and could play a role in preventing and treating many different conditions, including hypertension and diabetes. Vitamin B-12 helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy. The COVID Antibody test can tell you if you have had or been exposed to SARS Coronavirus-2.

In addition to the discounted rates, Haxtun Health has added the option to have results reviewed by a Haxtun Health provider at no additional charge.

“It’s something that we can now do because we have the lab capacity to run tests in-house and we can see the results if a participant wants us too” said Carly Preston, Assistant Lab Director.

Participants can always opt out of this service if they choose. For a full review and health evaluation, patients can schedule an annual wellness exam after they get their results.

Those participating in the Healthy for the Holidays Campaign can pay by cash or check.

About the Haxtun Health

Laboratory

Haxtun Health acquired a new lab system in 2020 which has opened the door to significantly increase the amount of testing that is done on campus. The new lab went live in the fall and many community members have already seen the benefits from it. The upgraded lab system provides better and quicker access to care for the community. Patients no longer have to wait two to five days for test results for most tests.
