Haxtun Hospital District, in partnership with Pathology Services and the Mayo Clinic, are now able to provide COVID-19 Antibody testing as part of HHD's Direct Access Testing Program.
This new test can determine if a person has been exposed to SARS-COV2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and has developed antibodies against the disease. Research has shown that having antibodies may provide a level of immunity from the disease. Results take three to five days.
HHD's Direct Access Testing program is much like signing up for lab work at the local health fair. This program allows community members to initiate lab testing and pay cash for testing without a physician's order at a discounted rate.
Appointments are not required and individuals can visit the front registration desk at HHD to get started. HHD's antibody test is currently $80 as part of the Direct Access Testing Program. More information can be found online at HaxtunHealth.org regarding the Direct Access Testing program.
As the COVID-19 pandemic rages across the globe, Mayo Clinic researchers are racing to find treatments for this deadly disease. At the same time, they're working to develop a vaccine to prevent infection by the SARS-COV-2 virus and reduce its devastating effects. HHD is proud to offer this antibody test in conjunction with a reputable facility like the Mayo Clinic.
