Carole Blomme

Carole Jean Blomme passed away at 10:27 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the age of 79.

She was born in Victor, Iowa, on Oct. 31, 1940 to Arthur and Evelina DeBrower.  She married Harold Blomme on Jan. 13, 1962.

Carole grew up in Iowa on her family farm.  She graduated high school from Saint John's Catholic High School and earned her license practical nursing degree from Saint Luke's nursing college in Cedar Rapids, S.D.  She and Harold farmed in Ladora and Sigourney before moving to Colorado 1972.

After living in the Padroni and Iliff areas for three years, the family moved to Holyoke.  Carole worked as a nurse at Melissa Memorial Hospital for 21 years, then worked for Baucke Funeral Home for 17 years.  She was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church and loved attending mass there each Sunday.

Carole was a caring and dear friend to many in the Holyoke community.  She had a passion for flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed doing crosswords and Sudoku puzzles, reading, crocheting and traveling to visit friends and family with Harold.  Carole brought beauty to everything that she touched as anyone who saw how she transformed her former acreage southeast of Holyoke and her current home in Amherst can attest to.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; sons Kevin and wife Debbie Blomme, Kerry and wife Sherri Blomme, Kraig and wife Corinne Blomme and Kelly and wife Becky Blomme; daughter-in-law Denise Blomme; grandchildren Holly, Darren, Brandon, Lauren, Dalton, Cole, Dylan, Hannah, Emma, Sam and Zander; great-grandchildren Alex, Maddy, Kaelyn, Michael, Nicholas and Cannon; and brothers and sister Elaine Rhinehart, Bill DeBrower, Dean DeBrower, Doug DeBrower, John DeBrower and Harold DeBrower.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Joyce DeBrower; brothers Frank DeBrower, David DeBrower and Tom DeBrower; son Keith Blomme; and daughter Kacee Blomme.

Due to coronavirus limitations, unfortunately there will not be a public funeral at this time. In lieu of having a funeral, cards may be sent to Harold Blomme at P.O. Box 34, 440 Monmouth Avenue, Amherst, CO 80721.
