Together, the Haxtun and Holyoke chambers of commerce are teaming up to help food banks in Phillips County.
The local chambers are partnering to help with efforts to restock the four Phillips County Food Banks, one of which includes the Haxtun Community Food Basket. Together, the two chambers of commerce plan to facility a county-wide food drive that will begin next Monday and continue through April 8 with distribution set for Easter and the summer months.
More than a dozen businesses in Haxtun and Holyoke plan to have collection boxes at their locations and the non-perishable food items that are collected will be split between the four food pantries in Phillips County.
Boxes in Haxtun maybe found at the Haxtun Community Childcare Center, Points West Community Bank, Haxtun Super’s and Dollar General.
Businesses that have already volunteered to have donation boxes will have them this week. If your business would like to serve as a collection site, contact Jenn Oberle with the Haxtun Chamber of Commerce at (970) 467-0194.
