The number one cause of child fatalities in the six-county region served by the Northeast Colorado Health Department is motor vehicle crashes. More children ages five to 19 die from crash-related injuries than from any other type of injury. Many of these deaths can be prevented. Phillips County Extension Office staff have been working on re-establishing a community garden for the area and recently announced the receipt of four grow boxes courtesy of the Will Heginbotham Trust. The grow boxes will be placed on the Phillips County Event Center grounds. Hopes are the garden will benefit everyone in Phillips County.
