    The Poppy Lady The red poppy, or Remembrance Poppy, has been a symbol of lives lost to war since World War I, 1914-1918.     The Garden of the Dawgs greenhouse build project began with Haxtun Junior High students in October. With advice from many valuable sources, the students used repurposed and donated materials for construction, completing it in February. In addition to the plants, students came up with garden projects to build and sell including bird baths, elevated beds, birdhouses, fairy jars and wash tables.     Fleming High School recently announced that Zoey Vandenbark has earned a place in the Daniels Scholarship Program.
