    The Haxtun Board of Education held a quick special meeting last week to hire a new kindergarten through 12th grade art teacher. The vacancy comes following the resignation of Sara Martinez who submitted her resignation effective the end of December. Realtor Johnna Harris closed on the property in November and with help from family and local contractors, plans are to open the office in just a few months.
