Phillips County has seen a spike in the number of positive COVID cases over the past two weeks. The County also saw its first COVID-19 related death. Herald offices have gone remote; sale of the store front and building along Haxtun’s main street is final this week. Owners Spring Atchison and Candie Fix announced the sale of the building and the relocation of their offices several weeks ago. A benefit for Bryan Kroeger is scheduled to be held Saturday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Phillips County Event Center. Kroeger was recently diagnosed with ALS and the benefit is meant to rally the community together to help the Kroeger family during this time. The undefeated Wildcats of Fleming met up with the undefeated Bobcats from Granada last Friday for an afternoon contest at the home of the Wildcats. Raymond "Ray" Milo Hahn passed away on Nov. 6, 2020 in Walla Walla, Wash. at the age of 90. Ray was born in the home of his maternal grandparents in St. Joseph, Mo. on Sept. 24, 1930 to Raymond and Ila Marene (Wisdom) Hahn. He was the oldest of five children. Ray grew up in Haxtun, where his family raised wheat, horses and dairy cows.
