    Marianne Goodland, Legislative Reporter|Jun 2, 2021

The 2021 Colorado General Assembly is in its final weeks, with an adjournment mandated by law no later than June 12. It is likely, however, that lawmakers will head home sooner than that, possibly as early as Monday, June 7. The past week has been a busy one with 276 measures remaining on the legislature’s calendar. One bill that is nearing completion: the bill formerly known as the public option. • Under the Wire

    Gary Hodgson|Jun 2, 2021

For years I have heard people say “there is no such thing as a dumb question.” As with most sage comments as this, someone had to be the first to say it. A little time spent on good old “Google” in search of the famous philosopher yielded a surprise. No one seems to know the answer. A few guesses include Einstein, Carl Sagan, Socrates and Ann Landers. I have a theory why no one has stepped up to claim credit for the line. There are, in fact, hundreds if not thousands of dumb questions floating a...

  • Fearless Faith

    Ken Frantz|Jun 2, 2021

Rains and milder temperatures provided blessings this week. Not everyone was eager to claim them, however, given the accompanying damage attendant to several of the storms. It’s been a year since a derecho storm front rolled through with hail and sustained winds of over seventy miles per hour. Some trees were lost immediately while others continue to endure a slow convalescence. Damage is still apparent though it feels like a corner has finally been turned on moving things to a more normal p...
