    The Frenchman Board of Education accepted three resignations while approving the consent agenda in a short, hour-long meeting at the end of May. Board members met at the conclusion of the eighth grade continuation held earlier in the evening. The local Board of Education in Fleming accepted resignations from physical education teacher Deron Feather, route bus driver Ashley Steward and special education teacher Cheri Bornhoft.     Haxtun fifth graders presented information on recent trips to members of the Haxtun Board of Education during a regular, mid-May meeting. A handful of students provided information on field trips to Rural AmeriTowne and Ag Fest while others attended the meeting in support of their classmates.     The Farmers State Bank of Brush/Akron has announced the winners of the 2022 Anna C. Petteys Scholarships. They are Brooklyn Plumb, Haxtun, Nallely Saucedo, Brush, and Emma Peeples, Arickaree. The scholarships have been awarded annually since 1971 to outstanding senior girls from public high schools in Logan, Morgan, Phillips, Sedgwick, Washington and Yuma counties. They are sponsored by the Jack Petteys Memorial Foundation in memory of Anna C. Petteys, area educator, author and newspaperwoman....

    On May 17, the Haxtun Police Department, with the assistance of the Holyoke Police Department, conducted an operation at both First Street, Colorado Avenue and Fletcher Street.     Six athletes from Haxtun's track and baseball teams earned post-season honors at the conclusion of the two seasons last week. Haxtun Baseball wrapped up as the team made a final four appearance last Thursday while others competed at the Colorado State Track meet last weekend.
